i was wondering if there was another alternative to the garage door seal lip i had it on my tsx and like with 2-3 days of having it it broke/ripped so im trying to figure out if theres another option i know the guy w the fa coupe has some lip he made and it sort of looks like a lip I've seen on a few WRXs
anyways if you guys have any idea of another/more durable option to the garage door seal lip let me know

well this is just me, but you could try take a strip of metal about 1/4 inch wide and bend it to shape and contour the front bumper. and then glue the garage seal lip on top of it, idk if you're down to drill holes. But 4 holes will do. one on each and and two more following somewhat towards the middle. and then get 4 bolts and nuts and basically sandwich the lip between the metal strip and the bumper. That's how i had mine, when i did that lip on the lincoln. it holds it on solid and doesnt deform or rip, other than it being more sturdy. idk what you would use, because its just foam lol

yea see it ripped vertically and then went to shit from there so i dont know if the metal strip holding it to the bumper would really help :/

looks like one of those wrx ebay lips, but I'm not sure which model (bugeye, peanut, or hawkeye). similiar to this (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/06-07-IMPREZA-STI-URETHANE-FRONT-PU-LIP-V-LIMITED-S204-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQfitsZSubmodelQ3aWRXQ20STIQQhash Zitem2a08a023c3QQitemZ180533339075QQptZMotorsQ5fCa rQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories)
i thought about getting one and trying it out, but my car's front bumper isnt as squared off as the wrx.

that ebay suby lip may work on your lip since the corners stick out more than the bumper line.

everyone has to find their own thing to work. since the bumpers are different. im still on the search for mine!
Question...related to lips..
I have a fiberglass lip right now at my current lowering spring status ride height...however that will change next month or so when the coilovers come, which means it will be nearly on the floor...I believe. Either way, is there a way to ensure or protect a fiberglass lip? (Like something to put under the lip?)....I wish it was ABS or Polyurethane, cause just means it wont crack. But, if there is nothing to do...then I just need to obviously drive more careful and angle more than I do at this height, and hope for the best.

Shaw you could add a fiberglass/wood/aluminum splitter on the bottom side of the lip, thats what ive been considering makin since i bought another garage door seal and fucked it up on the second day havin it on
7ender, the ones are ebay is same as garage door seal but like 2-3 times the price of garage door seal at H-D/lowes

Interesting... a suby lip. Never thought about that, but i've always wondered what i could find to fit my car instead of getting the over priced lip for my car. As long as it gives a some length to the front im sold.
Rockin a Yaris with a hood less then two feet in length it can use all the extra chin i can give it.
LOL
