okay so my SSR MS1 wheels are looking a lil dull, I use mothers and sampled other products to keep the lip nice and shiny, but it seems that all the polishes donis wipe off te dirt.

is there a buffer, some type of poshing wheel I can hook up to my drill and just sit there and polish the lips??? something that can give me that mirror finish......

any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks

most likely your lip is not raw metal... it probably has a layer of clearcoat on it. You probably have hazed the clearcoat trying to polish it with metal polish (metal polish does not shine clearcoat at all... in fact just the opposite). You may need to try using rubbing compound for paint and seeing if that + wax would make it shine. If that does not work then you may need to strip it down to the bare metal and then polish it out with metal polish after that.

exactly, 3 of the 4 wheels finishes are fine, they shine perfectly but they are used so like some one who washed a car with a dirty rag they do have swirls, im just trying to get them out

but one wheel's clear on the lip is gone i guess, its hazy and has no real shine to it anymore, but im getting it reploshed any way, has a lil curbage :(

but thank you, your info was very helpful

Look into Sonax Wheel Cleaner, It works very well. Then after that using windex and new paper to wipe off the windex will give you a sick shine

You can do what josh said and strip the lips to bare metal, then you can use the mothers powerball to buff it with a drill. From there use the mothers mag and aluminum polish, and then hit it with a sealer. and also try Smar wax wheel wax. You'll be balling outta controll after a good day of work

i cant find where to strip or how to strip, i think i saw some where you can take like 5 different grits of sand paper from rought to real soft sand paper but damn sanding down 3200 dollar wheels still scares the shit out of me :(

is there a average price to get wheels repolished professionally :)

thanks

looks to spend upwards of 100 a wheel if they arent very complex, could easily be double that tho
