quick question. what color is axle grease, like from the cv boot? does it have a hint of green to it?

Chan, I believe Subaru uses black grease from the factory. If you see green residue on the underside and no visible leaks it's most likely Cosmoline which is used to prevent corrosion during shipping. You'd know if it was as it smells terrible.

hmm im confused then. there like this sludge around the boot and everywhere around it on the passenger front. (everywhere like downpipe stain, crossmember and subframe, splash on the motor.)
the sludge is very dark and slightly green. i saw it today when the car was on the lift to do my exhaust.

They're not permanent only fitted whilst on the move they are vinyl wrapped rim protectors I get real bad stone chips on the rear rim edge with out them!
