How do these thing stretch?

Hey dudes. So my front tires are shot. 225/35/18s, the rears are still perfect which is what i get for not getting an alignment in time.

Anyhow, my buddy has some 225/40/18's that he will give me to get me through the season. I would put my 35 series on the front and put the 40 series on the rear. But does anyone have any insight on how these things stretch?
