Default Reppin 203/860. My journey to WFC

Lurked here for a while since 2011 and gradually became an active member and now an approved member as well
I was big in the Subaru community since my high school days and it's a love hate thing.

My first Subaru was a 2004 JBP FXT.
Still had wheel gap and wasn't big into the whole fitment scene.
Loved this thing to death until it got totaled.

Then I needed a car and being the idiot that I am decided to rush into things and got into this 2004 JBP WRX. I hated it, decided I wanted an S2k, put it up for sale and met Luke (subie_love). That S2k never happened.

Then I found my current 2004 Forester XT, but this time in PSM. This time I decided if I'm going to have a Forester, I'm going to do it right. So I picked it up like this

had 2004 STI BBS powdercoated black and WRX takeoff suspension. Both were immediately put up for sale and gone in less than 3 weeks.

I bought ISC N1 coilovers. Went ISC because I got a deal that you'd be stupid to pass on and it had its headquarters in MA for any warranty issues.
And put on 18x9 +35 Rota G Forces to get an idea of how I want my summer set up to sit.

I'm big on being original so I wanted to do something that either a.) not a lot of people do or b.) no forester has ever done so I came across these:
    Work Emotion XT7 18x9.5 +38
    235/40/18 Continental ContiPro tires.

As of now, don't really have any plans for the car.
Maybe sell the Works and get something 3 piece, fix little annoying things here and there any enjoy it.
Being a full time college student, can't do much. I'm already amazed I could get the car this far haha.

I've got some long term plans for this thing to get more power, keep it N/A and a 6 speed, pretty much euro spec. That grippy fitment is life.

I feel like Regamasters and RS' look good on virtually anything. I have a soft spot for BMWs so I'm excited to see this evolve.

Grippy fitment is magnificent. Capture his essence. And I like the sounds of the Euro-esque USDM N/A

I'm basically making it a bastard child. Euro-esque, USDM N/A with some Japanese flavor.

Ran into some stupid issues with the car, typical of a 90s BMW. It's not a huge deal, but I'm just too lazy to deal with it.
The traction control light and the ABS light came on together and they're not going away, eventually followed by a CEL for a P0500 which is a speed sensor code. Could be as easy as replacing one or even all the speed sensors, or could be the ABS module that's gone bad. Looked up some solutions on youtube and one person said it best, without a code scanner, it's like walking in blind trying to fix the issue so right now I'm avoiding driving the car.

Been really lazy with the car just driving it and enjoying it until these stupid issues popped up. However I do have some things in the works: a buddy of mine is going to be making me a custom catback exhaust, fabricate me a pair of rear camber arms so I can be one step closer to making the regas fit, and replacing the rubber flex joint that connects the transmission and the driveshaft. Just waiting for him to give me the green light so I can collect funds and collect the parts I need to to get everything going.

Update on this thread, although not really much, don't have any pictures. Just trying to keep the forum active:

After multiple attempts of trying to track down a BMW specific scanner to see what was going on with my car, I bit the bullet and ordered 2 rear speed sensors (they were cheap af) to see if they would fix the issues. I started with the passenger rear side because that's the most common place those sensors go bad. Youtube made this job look WAY easier than it actually was, and all of the DIY videos did not compensate for the fact that these sensors can get stuck in there pretty good. I ended up breaking the plastic tab and had to drill the damn thing out to put the new one in. 2 hours for what was supposed to be a 20 min job, kms. Was gonna do the driver's side but it was humid af and just didn't want to go through the process again. Luckily all my lights went away, I have traction control and ABS again.

This past weekend my buddy wanted to take the E36 for a few laps, couldn't say no and sat in on a ridealong. It's amazing what these cars can do stock. It was really cool to see what it could do in the right hands, I just don't have the proper skill set.

Those youtube DIYs are always so optimistic and stupid lol! How was it riding in your own car while someone else drifted it around a track? I would have been terrified lmao

I felt fine tbh. Mike has an M3 himself and afterall he is the man that runs Lock City so I was comfortable with it. It was cool to see what the car was capable of and got me that much more excited about starting my own drift build in the near future with a 4 door.
The only thing I was worried about was the rear passenger tire blowing out. There's a nail in it since I've bought the car and it's been slowly leaking air, but it has gotten worse. Getting 2 rear tires tomorrow since the tires look pretty old anyways looks like a lot of cracking and some dry rotting. The fronts seem fine.
