I am trying to convince Nicholl we need to go up above NY but I think it depends on how much time we have left at the end of the trip, we already seem pretty stretched for time as it is, also I need to find someone to potentially store the car with before I can get home and arrange shipping it back to the UK.

thank you man honestly that could actually be a great help. I have went and viewed a few cars recently been all turned out to be lemons, got someone going to check out an all original pretty clean looking e28 on Saturday.

So my good friend who lives between San Francisco and Sacramento went and picked up a little e30 for me, early model 325e manual.

its a bit rough on the outside but mechanically shes a peach which is actually exactly what I wanted.

its had all the coolant system overhauled new timing belt and a tune up and a load of other bits.

came with a front valance (not fitted) and a few other parts included sport leather front seats in a reasonable condition. Dash is cracked to hell but that's to be expected being a Cali car, I am going to try and find one of them dash carpets and if anyone has any bits going let me know. It does have that missing door card in the photos just wasn't fitted and something hit the passenger side meaning the passenger front fender and door are Bronzit, not white but I am going to keep my eyes pealed on CL whilst I go across the country and try and hunt down some white ones I can collect and fit on my route.

so I guess this is a little about the pre-trip build for the car. Any suggestions welcome!!

So we are going to extend the trip, unfortunately not for time but length as we are wanting to go up above new York... but what will the weather be like end of November/early September...?

End of November kind of sucks, gets pretty chilly and windy.
Yeah of course! Even if it's in NY I can come grab it and keep it at my place if it doesn't work out

Still planning the trip, getting super excited now as its about 5 weeks away till we fly. been getting some stuff for the car and to bring with us. still need some misc bits for the e30 but I got this today to help record some of the adventure!!

3 weeks till we leave England!!!

and i am getting excited and nervous all at the same time.

but a friend sent some seat belt buckles as the ones that was on the seats had facelift and the car is a pre-facelift so had pre-facelift belts. for those none-the-wiser (like me a few weeks ago) the facelift belt buckles wont fit pre-facelift belts. but pre-facelift belt buckles fit facelift and pre-facelift belts. I dont know i am confused now just by writing that. but short story is we have working seat belts!!!

damn i forgot how high your e30's are as standard. shittttt

gave the interior a good clean whilst the seats were out to fit the buckles too. I am super glad he gave the interior a good clean, this is actually the first thing i do when i buy a new car is to get all the previous owners grime out the inside of the car, i don't understand how disgusting some people can leave there cars on the inside!

I do have 2x new front "fenders" in white but they are currently situated down at a friends place near LA so wont be getting them till week 3 of the trip.
