off topic: but umm...xxr's, i know they're fake wheels too and all. i rock them myself. just tryna say that even tho they're fake, however, they aren't replicas. some of them do look similar to some real wheels but not exactly replicated.

ex: my 521's look like some bbs lm's or something but not really
the 513's look like watanabe's but not really
the 522's look like the gram lights 57c and volk te37's had a baby

anyways, what are you're guys' thoughts on xxr's? this question goes out to the "anti-replica" people.

a lot of people rock fake wheels because they dont have the funds for legit wheels. so what is a good price and brand for non-fakes?
for example: if you dont want to drop $1000+ on a Tag watch, you dont have to rock a fake/knock-off. you could buy a decent legit watch for $150 and up (swatch, skagen, esq/movado, bulova, etc). what if you dont want to drop $2000 on wheels (no tires)? what are good and affordable non-fake options? TSW? Enkei? are Volks and SSRs comparable to a $1000 or $300 watch? but grippy makes a good point. a lot of fakes are capitalizing on aggressive fitments

i personaly had a set of Works, Rotas, Kosei, Enkei, Konig, Primax, Drift z and some ICW wheels the biggest difference i have seen was weight.

my only concern with all those wheels was the more expensive one getting messed up. i hated going through some cities and towns with my Works or Kosei wheels cause i knew i couldnt just buy one and that just one wheel would cost me the same price as one of my other sets of wheels.

to all those that have the real wheels props to you for buy really expensive wheels

to those who have a replica or a cheaper wheels if they work and look like you want them then keep on rolling on them

but like alot of people said more cheaper wheels have better fitment options

There are a lot of different wheels out there that are most of the time only a few hundred dollars more than a set of "fake" wheels. I don't know about you guys, but waiting a few weeks is def worth it.

Good point. I don't know what replica my XXR's are suppost to look like, but I saw how fat the lip was and jumped on them.

^^ yeah ive wanted vs-xx but cant afford that price tag...but my xxr 006's are the closest i could find to them with a 3.5inch lip. for the xxr 18x9.5 with tires i paid around $850. well worth it for the "look" and price

And you said you got your legit wheels for $1,000.....be glad you don't have a 350z. My Varrstoens cost more than $1000. You CAN'T find Volks/Works etc. for $1000 for a 350z....ESPECIALLY if you want 19x10-19x11 in a low offset. This isn't a crappy thread. I'm actually glad that is was started, I love seeing peoples' comments on this subject.

What came first........The Work Meister S1 or the SSR Professor SP1??
SOMEBODY created a replica of a very famous wheel
This is the truth for the Z/G platform. Varrstoens are just about the only good looking fake wheel in my opinion for the 350z/g35 and they still are at least 1000.

Having 19's is both a blessing and a curse haha. I've been waiting forever for my legit wheels.

Im all for the budget minded tuner. If you got the money go ahead and rock the real label. Some people i've seen get the fakes and rock it likes its real. Times is tuff right now that's all, but if someone wants to spend the money who are we to stop them??

Just recently I was at a show and a subbie was rockin' konig after burners (neo chrome lip) with Rays Eng stickers on them.... as well as the Konig stickers.

Wasn't a fan, I even talked to the guy and made it clear it was dumb. He said it was legit because he had Rays valve stems....

Been through the Rotas in my hondas days, couldn't really justify buying wheels for my civic back then that cost 3/4 of what car is worth, but since I've got my g35 then to my gs300... never thought about buying fake wheels again... as far as buying fake wheels for my self, I'm against it. But I don't bring that opinion upon another person, because everybody's financial reason is their business not mine. This thread is actually interesting just to see what's everyones' opinions are.

As long as you have fitment it's all good to me.

The thing is you can tell the difference between a fake wheel and a real wheel.

When I first got the car I wanted some Rota P45r's and was very close to buying some, I ended up getting fail fitment kai's instead. Now I have Rays LMGT4's which are the real deal P45R's. People online say I like them but they look like P45r's, the thing is if you saw them next to each other you can tell how much nicer the real thing is. I mean if you want to be baller and rock the real things that look better and will last longer then bro, props to you. But if you can't afford some baller wheels or want something cheap because you drive the fuck outta your car then bro, props to you too.

I respect whatever, but I prefer the real thing.

I'm rocking XXR's on my car, but I see nothing wrong with doing so. Sure, they were cheap........but that doesn't take away from the fact that they look great, are relatively lightweight, and seem to hold up to my daily endeavors just fine. I would have liked to have gotten some "legit" wheels, but the XXR's were much more within my budget. I plan on eventually purchasing some custom J-Line's in the future, but for now i'm proud to rock my "fake" wheels.
